I'm completing day 2 of my client acquisition sprint, and progress feels slow as I continue repositioning myself as a strategic design partner.
Day 2: Strategic Lead Magnets & Service Structure
Today, I worked on value-first touch points and restructuring my service offerings to create a clear journey for clients. Here's what I accomplished:
Lead Magnet Development
I spent time brainstorming and refining lead magnets that showcase my strategic thinking while providing immediate value:
UX Audit Templates: I already had these, but I'm updating them to better connect tactical improvements to business outcomes. These templates help clients identify immediate improvement opportunities in their digital products.
Strategic Design ROI Calculator: This is a new offering I'm developing that will help clients see the financial impact of making UX improvements. I already have something like this as a resource in my Design+Business email course, but I could expand upon this tool. By connecting design decisions to business metrics, I'm demonstrating the strategic value of my work.
5-Day Design+Business Course: I've already created this, but I'm reviewing it to ensure it builds relationships while showcasing my expertise in connecting design decisions to business goals.
These tools serve a dual purpose: they provide immediate value to prospects while demonstrating my strategic approach to design challenges.
Service Restructuring: "Your Design Journey"
I also continued updating my website, with a focus on rebundling my services into a cohesive client journey with different tiers:
Discovery: Research and strategy to understand your business goals, user needs, and market opportunities.
Design: Strategic solutions that bring your vision to life, connecting user experience to business outcomes.
Develop: Implementation that turns designs into working products, ensuring the strategic vision is executed effectively.
Grow: Ongoing partnership to help your business grow through continuous improvement and strategic guidance.
This structure creates a natural progression from tactical projects to strategic partnerships, making it easy for clients to see how our relationship can evolve over time.
Insights from Day 2
It's super important to create clear pathways for clients to move from initial engagement to deeper partnership. By structuring my offerings as a journey, I'm making it easier for clients to understand how working with me evolves from solving immediate problems to addressing strategic business goals.
Also, lead magnets can serve as powerful demonstrations of my approach. Rather than just telling prospects I can deliver strategic value, these tools let them experience it firsthand.
What's Next
Tomorrow (Day 3), I'll spend majority of the day to finish my website updates, and move on to my portfolio. However, in the morning, I'll focus on community integration - identifying and joining targeted communities where founders, product leaders, and potential clients gather. I'll be developing a strategy for meaningful engagement that positions me as a valuable contributor rather than just another designer looking for work.
Until tomorrow,
Kristina
